STRATEGIC THINKING UNDER STRESS (STUS)
With the growing threat of violence at mass gatherings, an armed citizens response under stress is of the utmost importance. In today’s world, armed citizens can no longer just “going through the motions.” Instead, they must train and prepare for complex situations under stress.
Responsible citizens and armed professionals that want to improve their survivability in a chaotic and stressful scenario should take this class.
- Improve cognitive thinking skills under stress (physical stress, time constraints, discomfort, environmental factors, internal pressure, external pressure). Participants will become more aware of how various stressors affect them. They will recognize their strengths and weaknesses and prepare themselves to effectively work through stressful situations.
- Learn to slow situations, so that suitable decisions can be made rather than becoming overwhelmed with fear or panic.
- Improve situational awareness and memory through a variety of drills- this will lead to more effective reporting and communicating of important details that may be overlooked or lost due to stress.
Note: This class involves working under a great deal of physical and mental stress. Initially, everything will be done using dryfire with safe weapons. For the safety of the group during the live fire portion, students that cannot safely demonstrate their competency may be required to sit out, or to participate with a clear and safe gun.
Ammunition: We use Frangible ammunition on our range because you will be shooting steel targets. Frangible ammunition is available onsite however if you would like to bring your own ammo, please bring frangible ammo ONLY. For safety reasons ball and steel core ammo are not allowed!
