DEFENSIVE FIREARMS TECHNIQUES II

DEFENSIVE FIREARMS TECHNIQUES – LEVEL II

This course combines the Defensive Handgun II and Defensive Rifle II courses into a single bundled 2-day class. A firearm is the ultimate force equalizer for almost any self-defense situation. Whether you’re deploying a pistol or rifle in your home, your vehicle this advanced course will help you take your defensive skills to the next level by applying modern defensive shooting techniques in a 360-degree training environment.

Responsible citizens and armed professionals who own a pistol and rifle should take this class. The Defensive Firearms II class provides an opportunity to learn and practice modern defensive shooting techniques in a 360-degree training environment doing realistic exercises and drills that are simply not possible elsewhere.

If you are using your firearm for defensive purposes your training must be dedicated to learning how to fight with your weapon!

This class will teach you:

  • Review situational awareness, threat recognition and deadly force issues/outcomes.
  • Review Drawing from a holster, grip, trigger management, sight alignment plus “high ready/low ready” techniques which are fundamental for muzzle discipline.
  • Review rifle accessories including optics, back up iron sights, weapon mounted lights and slings
  • Advanced marksmanship principles for real world situations (not competition).
  • Advanced reloading and malfunction clearing techniques.
  • Advanced target identification and threat discrimination over “speed shooting” for bystander safety.
  • Advanced skills for engaging multiple threats with accurate shot placement.
  • Advanced shot placement while moving for dynamic situations and getting off the “X”.
  • Advanced use of cover, concealment, and space.
  • Advanced shooting positions to gain a tactical advantage or due to situational factors.

NOTE:

All Defensive Firearms II classes include stress drills where you will be moving through a predetermined course of fire and engaging targets at distances as far as 300 yards. Although the participation in these drills is optional, it is highly recommended at this level since they are designed to test a student’s ability in a realistic environment under stress. Not only are they a great indication of your abilities, but they are also a lot of fun.

If students cannot safely keep up with the course tempo, the instructor staff may have students continue drills with gun clear and safe or sit out during the exercise for the safety of the group.
