Precision Rifle Techniques I
This course is perfect for responsible citizens including hunters, sport shooters and firearms enthusiasts that want to learn the fundamentals of long range or precision marksmanship. This course will allow you to become proficient and obtain first round hits from 100 to 500 yards and is a prerequisite for our Precision Rifle II and Scout Recon courses.

This course will cover the techniques required to achieve first round hits from 100 to 500 yards and is a prerequisite for our Precision Rifle II and Scout Recon Courses.
Topics include:
- Rifle set-up, including optic and bi-pod placement.
- Ammunition selection and ballistics.
- Understanding eye relief, shooting positions, breathing, trigger control and follow through.
- Sighting in your rifle at desired distance.
- Bullet trajectory vs. line of sight, and how it applies to ranging the target properly.
- Mils vs. MOA and how we use each to achieve your goals.
- Ranging targets effectively utilizing the scope reticle.
- Establish and confirm rifle data (DOPE) out to 500 yards.
- Finding stability in unorthodox shooting positions.
- Utilizing holds for faster engagements on targets at distances up to 500 yards.
- Caring for and cleaning your rifle.
- Precision or hunting style rifle (Bolt action or semi-automatic) Â
- Adjustable rifle scope with appropriate long-range reticle (Mildot, MOA, or BDC)
- Bi-pod or shooting bags for rifle
- Instructional guides and specification for your optics and rifles including reticle instructions. Â
- 300 rounds (Frangible requirement doesn’t apply for this course)
- Note pad, calculator, pencil/pen
- Ground padÂ
- Ear and Ear protection
- Gun lube, cleaning kit, tools for your scope/scope rings
- Clothing for the weather (Note the range is outside)
- Closed toed shoes
- Pants (recommended)
- Long sleeve shirt (recommended)
- Hat (recommended)

- Lunch and snacks
- 1-Gallon of water each day
