SUMMARY:DEFENSIVE FIREARMS TECHNIQUES - LEVEL I
DESCRIPTION:DEFENSIVE FIREARMS TECHNIQUES – LEVEL I\n\n\n\nThis course combines the Defensive Handgun I and Defensive Rifle I courses into a single bundled 2-day class. Having a firearm is a great self-defense equalizer because it offers any person\, regardless of age\, sex\, and strength\, the ability to deliver deadly force. Unfortunately\, too many people assume that simply having a firearm will guarantee their security. \n\n\n\nRealistically\, if you are not skilled in their use\, and psychologically prepared to use them\, your firearms will not provide any meaningful security\, and can actually be a liability to yourself and to others around you.      \n\n\n\nAnyone who owns a handgun and rifle and wants to improve their defensive skills should take this course. Whether you are a new shooter\, or a seasoned professional\, this Defensive Firearms I class will provide you an opportunity to learn and practice modern defensive shooting techniques using your pistol and rifle.     \n\n\n\nOur instructors are able to work with each student at their pace so every participant can improve their skill set. New shooters can focus on more basic handgun techniques\, while experienced shooters can challenge themselves in a 360-degree training environment.   \n\n\n\nIf you have a firearm in your home\, or if you carry one for defensive purposes\, consider this.  \n\n\n\n\nSelf-defense shootings don’t happen on a square range.\n\n\n\nYour threat won’t be a two-dimensional stationary paper target.\n\n\n\nYour threat won’t be standing still.\n\n\n\nYour threat will be trying to hurt or kill you (or your family).\n\n\n\nYour survivability will be dependent on your knowledge\, skills\, and judgment!\n\n\n\n\nThis class will teach you: \n\n\n\n\nSituational awareness\, threat recognition and deadly force issues/outcomes.\n\n\n\nDrawing from a holster\, grip\, trigger management\, sight alignment plus “high ready/low ready” techniques which are fundamental for muzzle discipline.\n\n\n\nRifle familiarization and safety.\n\n\n\nDiscuss rifle accessories including optics\, back up iron sights\, weapon mounted lights and slings\n\n\n\nProper stance\, grip\, sight alignment plus “high ready/low ready” techniques which are fundamental for muzzle discipline.\n\n\n\nMarksmanship principles for real world situations (not competition).\n\n\n\nReloading and malfunction clearing techniques.\n\n\n\nTarget identification and threat discrimination over “speed shooting” for bystander safety.\n\n\n\nSkills for engaging in multiple threats with accurate shot placement.\n\n\n\nAccurate shot placement while moving for dynamic situations and getting off the “X”.\n\n\n\nSelection of cover and concealment and use of space.\n\n\n\nDominate and non-dominate shooting positions to gain a tactical advantage or due to situational factors.\n\n\n\n\nNOTE: \n\n\n\nMost Defensive Firearms I classes include stress drills where you will safely move through a predetermined course of fire engaging targets. SUMMARY:DEFENSIVE FIREARMS TECHNIQUES - LEVEL I 04/15/2023
DESCRIPTION:DEFENSIVE FIREARMS TECHNIQUES – LEVEL I\n\n\n\nThis course combines the Defensive Handgun I and Defensive Rifle I courses into a single bundled 2-day class. These drills are optional based on each shooter’s abilities and comfort levels. \n\n\n\nIf students cannot safely keep up with the course tempo\, the instructor may have students continue drills with gun clear and safe or sit out during the exercise for the safety of the group. \n\n\n\n\nHandgun\n\n250 rounds of frangible ammunition for your pistol\n\n\n\nAt least 3 magazines\n\n\n\nHolster (outside the waistband\, or inside the waistband)\n\n\n\nMagazine pouch\n\n\n\n\n\nDefensive Rifle (AR-15\, AK-47\, or similar) with a sling and a sighting system (optic and or iron sights)\n\n250 rounds of frangible ammunition for your rifle\n\n\n\nAt least 4 magazines\n\n\n\nMagazine pouch (Many students wear battle belts\, chest rigs or plate carriers however these are optional)\n\n\n\n\n\nEar and Ear protection\n\n\n\nGun lube\, cleaning kit\, tools\n\n\n\nClothing for the weather (Note the range is outside)\n\nClosed toed shoes\n\n\n\nPants (recommended)\n\n\n\nLong sleeve shirt (recommended)\n\n\n\nHat (recommended)\n\n\n\nSunscreen\n\n\n\nBug spray\n\n\n\n\n\nLunch and snacks\n\n\n\n1-Gallon of water each day
